India Development Gateway (InDG) is a
national level initiative dedicated to rural empowerment, provides
credible information products and services in local languages. As the
rural landscape in India is set to take the advantage of the
flourishing ICT initiatives, mostly through village level information
kiosks set up by many organisations, InDG initiative offers the much
required content and services in local languages that makes the
difference in the lives of the rural people.
- Multilingual portal (www.indg.in) hosting
information on six livelihood oriented sectors in regional
languages
- Value added services and products both online and offline mode
- Training and capacity building of first level service providers and
kiosk operators
The multilingual portal developed as
part of InDG initiative, provides information related to six sectors
(Agriculture, Health, Primary Education, Rural Energy, Social Welfare
and E-Governance), currently in six languages viz. Hindi, Bengali,
Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and English. Four more languages are being added
(Gujarati, Assamese, Kannada and Malayalam). This portal was dedicated
to nation by Hon’ble President of India in July 2008.
InDG initiative is driven by unique
partnership model, wherein many like minded organisations representing
NGOs, Government and Private are supporting content generation and
outreach activities. Grassroots level piloting of services are being
undertaken in association with partners in identified states.

professionals to work with us ...
- Eligibility: Any individual or organization with
experience in translation of content related to subjects like
Agriculture, Health, Education, Social Welfare, Energy and
e-Governance. Should have good command over English and respective
language (Assamese / Kannada / Gujarati / Malayalam / Hindi / Bengali /
Marathi / Telugu / Tamil).

- As Freelance Validators
- Eligibility: Domain expertise in any of the areas
like Agriculture, Health, Education, Social Welfare, Energy and
e-Governance. Minimum 5 years experience in content editing and
validation activities in their local language. Commitment and interest
in taking up such responsibilities as part time basis.
