Release of Multilingual Multimedia CD on “Nutrition and Health”

The Comprehensive multimedia multilingual CD on “Nutrition and Health” developed by India Development Gateway, C-DAC, Hyderabad in association with National Institute of Nutrition (NIN), was released on November 19, 2009 (Thursday) at NIN campus, Taranaka, Hyderabad during the Pre-Conference workshop inauguration function of the ‘41st National Conference of Nutrition Society of India’, by Dr. Sesikeran, Director, NIN and Dr. Sarat Chandra Babu, Director, C-DAC, Hyderabad.

About the CD

• "Nutrition and Health" is a comprehensive multimedia multilingual presentation that attempts to address the basic concerns of a common man on nutrition for a healthy living. It is designed to answer the crucial questions - What to eat, when to eat, how to eat and how much to eat.

• The content in the CD is well structured, to enable easy understanding. One can find the information aligned under four key heads
  1. Know your food
  2. Nutrient requirement and their sources
  3. Food and diseases
  4. Food safety

• The CD is currently made available for public in bilingual forms
  1. English- Hindi
  2. English-Telugu
  3. English- Tamil

• The cost of each CD is Rs. 75/-
