Skill leading to gainful employment
My name is Paila Sanyasirao. I am 24 years old. I live in Kesavaram village. I hail from a farm labourer’s family. I had to discontinue my studies after completing my B.Com, because of my poor financial condition. Iam currently associated with the Ashwini centre established by Byrraju Foundation in my village.
During one of the training programmes organized by the InDG team for Ashwini operators, we were taught about using local languages in computers. I also came to know about www.indg.in portal during the training programme.
Using the newly acquired skill, I started taking up DTP work in Telugu. Initially I started taking up DTP work for the InDG portal. Now Iam reaching out to other agencies too. I am able to get an income of upto Rs 1000 per month at present. I am very happy that I can earn money sitting in my village with no extra investment required. The InDG initiative is not only providing us useful information on agriculture, health, E-Governance, primary education and rural energy, but also given us an employment skill that is helping us earn some income.
