Lokvani project has been launched in the year of 2004 with the
objective to help citizens make their grievances related to government
services in an easy manner and also get their grievances redressed
within 15 days of filling complaint through kiosk centers.
It gives citizens an opportunity to interact with the government
without actually visit any government office. Some of the services
offered include online submission, monitoring and disposal of public
grievances/complaints, online land records, information about various
government schemes, application forms, developmental works/ schemes/
expenditures/beneficiaries etc, information about local employment
opportunities in the district etc.
The kiosks has been given login/passwords to log on to Lokvani
website. The Rate List for the services was finalized and care was
taken to ensure that the kiosks follow the prescribed pricing. By
December 2004, 13 Lokvani Centres were set up. As on Dec 2006, the
number has gone up to 90.
Instead of coming all the way to the District Office the citizens
can now avail several government services at the tehsil, block and town
level itself. Lokvani can be accessed on the Internet at www.sitapur.nic.in/lokvani (User Name: guest,
Password: guest).
Services like Land Records, Tender Forms, Arms license application
status, GPF accounts of basic education teachers are available online
now. To ensure transparency, details of developmental works, ration
allotment to fair price shop dealers, money sent to Gram Sabhas etc.
are made available to people.
The land records have been computerized and available on line at
Lokvani website. Also services like Online Registration of
Death/Births, Certificates for SC/STs, Domicile etc being offered
through Single Window service. More than 50 other districts of UP have
been now using Lokvani based citizen services.
