Precision forming is nothing but usage of right amount of resources at right time based upon the conditions that are prevailed in the field condition. Example: if u want cultivate groundnut based upon of your soil properties and nutirents availability(by undergoing soil test), you will try to apply fertilizers. This is one aspect of precision forming based upon other parameters like irrgation requirement, pest and diseace attach u will apply particular amount water/pesticide/fungicide in prescribed form in prescribed amount with consultant of agriculture officer. Precision farming is need of hour not only for groundnut but for any other crop.

Precision farming owing to the initial cost is generally adopted in high value horticultural crops.
There are various precision farming farmers groups formed by TNAU in various districts of Tamil Nadu who will be able to share their experiences. You can also contact
Nodal Officer and Director of Extension Education,
Tamil Nadu Precision Farming Project
Tamil Nadu Agricultural University,
Coimbatore – 641003, Tamil Nadu.
for more details regarding training.
