Financial assistance for storage godowns and drying yards

Back to Agriculture

The loss of harvested grain is not only a loss for the   farmer but also a National Loss. The farmer would have expended 100% of the production cost when the grain is ready for storing. If there is a damage or loss of grain at this stage he  loses 100% of the money spent to produce it. If there is a loss during any other stage of cultivation, the loss will be restricted only to the  extent of the amount spent till that stage. As a farmer I feel the Govt must offer    substantial  subsidy to individual farmers who want to construct their own storage godown. The banks must also lend liberraly to the genuine farmer, and schedule the repayment period over 15-20 years. Like wise importance must also be given for the drying yards. I do not know whether any such schemes are in force. If so I would like to know the details.
